In 1992, 29000 rubber ducks fell of a Chinese freight ship in the Pacific ocean. Thousands of them washed up on the shores of eastern Asia and Australia. Some even made it as far as the western shores of Noth & South America. But some have travelled even further; After a few years at sea they floated north into the Bering Straight where they became trapped in the polar ice cap. The ducks and the ice then migrated east. A few years ago they emerged from the ice in the northern Atlantic. From there they traveled down the eastern Canadian & US coastline before be swept into the gulf stream. They are currently on their way to England, and are expected to land sometime in the summer of 2007.

The English language commonly uses "blue" to refer to any color from cyan to navy blue. However, many languages, including many east Asian and African languages, do not have separate terms for blue and green, instead using a single word for both. At the same time, some languages, like Russian, Italian, and Hebrew, have different words for what English calls light blue and dark blue. This is the same as the English distinction between red and light red (pink).

On Dec. 17, 1997, an episode of "Pokemon" was aired on Japanese television that induced seizures in hundreds of people throughout the country of Japan. The ages of those affected ranged from 3 to 58 years old. Ironically, the TV news reports played the perpetrating scene excerpt of flashing red lights, causing even more people to be afflicted with epileptic-type symptoms, in case they had missed the first one.
